WHAT'S RIGHT WITH THIS PICTURE?
Many of us remember the comic book puzzles called “What’s wrong with this picture?” In some ways, we have been playing this game all of our lives. It’s time we started a new game called “What’s right with this picture?” As human beings, we are creators. The more we accept the freedom and responsibility of this, while focusing on love, the more we come into alignment with the Creator of the universe. In our daily lives, we are creating our experience of each moment with our thought processes and how we respond to and manage our emotions. Thus far in our evolution we have been primarily governed by the survival-based emotion of fear, which comes from the instinctual part of our brain, sometimes called the reptilian brain. In response to our fear and the related needs that arise, we have fully developed the left brain in the neocortex, which is a problem solver, designed to solve the problems that frighten us. This is the basis for our intrigue with the game “What’s wrong with this picture?" When we shift to looking at “What’s right with this picture?” we are activating and using different parts of our brain. In this transition to the positive viewpoint, we expand into a more complete use of the entire brain, activating our mammalian instincts and what has become known as the right brain. How intriguing that love, compassion and creativity take us further into the full and complete use of one of our most precious gifts...the human brain.
