A SALUTE TO THE SILENT SAINTS
Here’s to those of you who mean well, however your efforts may turn out. Here’s to those of you who care, and try to show your caring in everything you do. Here’s to those of you who suffer, and long for love. Here’s to those of you who spend all of your time with the suffering. Here’s to those of you who sing, and make music to speak to our hearts and minds. Here’s to those of you who labor long and hard to support your families. Here’s to those of you who love your work. Here’s to those of you who laugh, bringing the healing salve of joy to weary souls. Here’s to those of you who are lost and confused, may you find a light within, to guide you through the wilderness. Here’s to those of you who have devoted your life to service, may you remember to serve your selves. Here’s to the mothers, on the painfully joyful journey to your children’s freedom and independence. Here’s to the fathers, may you step aside from your protector/provider role long enough to listen to your wives and play with your children. Here’s to the children, may you remember your divine birth, and never lose sight of the reason you are here. Here’s to the beggars, may your cup be filled to overflowing. Here’s to the wealthy, may you know the freedom and responsibility that accompanies abundance. Here’s to the powerful, may you find humility, that we may all benefit from your greatness. Here’s to the weak and helpless, may you know the power that has always been yours. Here’s to the saviors, may you be saved. Here’s to the victims, may you save yourselves.
