THE DIVINE CHILD
One of the brightest reasons for this season is to celebrate the birth of the divine child. It can be said that each of us is born divine, in that our origin is the Great Mystery, the Creator of the Universe. In the innocent, pure state of our being at birth, we were as yet largely untouched by the ways and influences of the world. This pure essential being is still here, inside each of us, waiting to be acknowledged, known and celebrated. Marianne Williamson has said that our greatest fear is facing our magnificence, our inner light. When we catch but one small glimpse of this pure, radiant being that is our true original self, we are washed in unconditional love. This is both what we want, and what we fear the most. We want it because it shows us who we really are, and helps us understand why we came to this earth. We fear it because its essence of love flows into places where love has never been. The freedom of knowing our magnificence is exhilarating, uplifting, healing, and energizing. The responsibility of knowing our magnificence is humbling, sobering, chastening, frightening. With freedom comes tremendous responsibility. With responsibility comes tremendous freedom. To accept that you are a divine being, imbued with healing powers and wisdom is truly an awesome realization.
