A Silent Awakening

Consider the possibility that by reading this newsletter, you are a part of something big that is happening all over the world. I started seeing evidence of it years ago, and the evidence is growing every day. When I started my own Goodfinding journey, I had no idea what was in store. Now, I am constantly amazed at the amount of good in this world. It is all around us and inside us all of the time--silent, because it will not shout at you. It is powerfully gentle.

I am now convinced that we are waking up to the reality of pervasive goodness as a human species, and I encourage you to look for your own examples. Just to get you in the mood, watch this delightful video and notice the emotion is stirs in you. That feeling is good for your heart and your brain! Be a skeptic, if you like, but just for one month, watch for the increasing signs of goodness, kindness, joy, laughter, wisdom and well being. By the way, you'll find a new Be A Goodfinder link on your right!

Take Only Inspired Action

If you will give this a try, I think you will be amazed at the results. The first step is to develop your own practice of journaling, relaxation, reading, prayer or meditation--whatever it takes to get you feeling inspired. Then use those methods and techniques before starting...well, virtually anything! Start your day by getting yourself inspired, lined up and feeling good. Then take the action that feels inspired, and watch the amazing results you will get!

Speaking of inspiration, watch this video of Patrick Hughes, a blind boy who plays piano and trumpet and marches in a marching band. You'll also enjoy this story about George, a savant who works in a hardware store--and remembers details that will amaze you. And here you'll find CNN reporting on Everyday Heroes, wonderful stories that will no doubt inspire you. And speaking of stories, in my work with SiteBuildIt! I came across a great website called Inspirational Short Stories. Get inspired!

  Having Plain Old Fun

Never underestimate the value of a good time. The more fun you're having, the kinder, smarter and healthier you will be! So, let's have some fun...start by watching these talented and energetic guys doing a treadmill dance, of all things. I love this video of some fun-loving folks "at the office" lip-syncing some of their favorite tunes. I wonder if they got paid for that time...

I've never been to a wedding like this, but I sure would like to! And now for some hilarious goofiness. This video shows how concerned citizens checking an abandoned child pram at Walmart get a shocking surprise. So, if you watched any or all of those, you're probably smiling. If so, you're sending a message to your heart and entire nervous system that all is well, lowering your stress and improving your health.

For Your Good Health And Life

We all know the power of music in our lives, but here you will find a physician using his cello as part of his medical practice. Dr. Eriic Rotor plays his cello in some of the most unlikely places, to raise money, to inspire and to heal. And speaking of raising money, here's a story about seven year old Charlie Simpson, a British boy who recently raised $194,000 for Haiti.

If you've ever wondered whether people are basically good, here is some information about the "compassionate instinct," citing research that we're born with the natural tendency to be compassionate with each other. And if you'd like to live to be 100 years old, watch this TED video that gives some great pointers to Elegant Aging. And lastly, find out about a hand-held device to non-medically lower blood pressure, and how solar energy has become affordable for virtually everyone!
