Regenerate, Rejuvenate, Revitalize!

Here is a wonderful new focus for your brilliant, creative mind. The "payment" of your attention is the most important investment you'll ever make, and you make that investment all day every day. Whether you pay attention to it or not, your body and mind are in a constant process of regenerating, rejuvenating and revitalizing--not to mention replenishing, renewing and re-energizing. Scientists have verified that the average age of your body is 15 and 1/2 years.

So, what if you shift your focus away from that ache, pain or diagnosis to the ongoing, automatic renewing and regenerating process that is responsible for restoring you to health since the day you were born? Look for evidence of rejuvenation in your world--like my 90 year-old father currently working (and working out) in Hong Kong, and Bernice Rushbrooke cleaning staircases on her hands and knees (she wants to...) at 108 years of age--watch her video!

The Psychology Of Possibility

I'm enjoying Ellen Langer's book, Counter Clockwise: Mindful Health and the Power Of Possibility. She talks about the psychology of possibility as a way of thinking about life and ourselves that takes the ceiling off! She makes the point that if we teach a chimpanzee to talk, we would assume that all chimps can talk. But with us humans, we allow our self-limiting thought to interfere with this possibility thinking. Ready to take the ceiling off? Okay...consider Bernice (video above) doing so well at 108, and say to yourself, "Me too!"

Okay, maybe you don't want to be cleaning staircases at 108, but what do you want? Consider the possibility that you can have it! If your skeptical mind is screaming loudly right now, just say to it, "Thank you so much for trying to help me. I know you don't want me to get my hopes up and be disappointed. Don't worry, I'll be so focused on the good, right and beautiful in my life that disappointment will be totally out of my reach." Then pat your little worry-mind on its head and give it a nice place to take a nap--and go back to considering the positive possibilities that are coming to you!

Great Goodfinding Videos & Articles

How would you like a healthy heart and some great conversation? Well, that's exactly what happiness will get you, as this article on your heart and this one about happy people and conversing demonstrate. So, now let's jump right into some happiness generation! Watch the African Children's Choir with Josh Groban here, and also performing Walking In The Light. Now sit back, relax, and watch this beautiful slide show while listening to Patty Griffin sing, "Heavenly Day." That's a good tune to dance to, by the way.

Now let's ramp it up a bit. Watch Johnny Carson and Dom DeLuise in some serious silliness, see why fitness centers were not necessary in the '50's, and top it off with this happy and talented 4 year old drummer. Let's swing into something smoother with this inspiring video about Libby and Brad Burky and the Same Cafe. "Same" stands for, "So All May Eat." It's a pay-what-you-can community cafe that shows the beauty and grace of the human spirit--read their blog here. I also like this article that shows teachers who are more interested in their students than in making more money, and this video showing the generosity of anonymous donors to good folks in need.

I hope you also enjoy this happy hippo and this shark rescue as we wind down this segment with these videos of the International Space Station assembly and the amazing Bobbie McFerrin delightfully messing with our minds at the World Science Festival. Hear some more Bobbie McFerrin now--he is truly wonderful!

Okay, there you go. Be good to you, laugh as much as possible, look for the good inside and all around you and consider the possibility that there is more good in store for you than you ever dreamed of.
