In Celebration Of Life And Beauty

Shifting your focus does you a world of good! As you gently nudge your attention into this issue, I hope it lifts your spirits, makes you smile, and renews your hope and faith in life and the human spirit. That is, after all, what this newsletter is all about. Are we ignoring problems here? No, not really...we're just suggesting that you take a refreshing break from the hum and the drum, that will make you better at dealing with your problems when you return to them. And, after focusing for a while on the beauty and fun of life, your problems won't be so big--or, they might just be gone! Did you know...when you shift your focus to the good, the right and the working parts of life, you're using more of your magnificent brain, sending a soothing message to your heart, and improving your immune system? Nothing illustrates this point better than this fun upbeat video by the Jive Aces called "Bring Me Sunshine." Get on up and dance!

Heroes Of Sound And Music

While you're in the groove, let's look at one of the reasons that watching that Jive Aces video makes you feel so good. This fascinating video on the physics of sound and form shows how the molecules in your body might be responding to the sounds you hear. Now watch and listen to Shawn Colvin and Strings Attached performing "This Must Be The Place," by Talking Heads. I love the lyrics, "Feet on the ground, head in the clouds," which sounds like the grounded optimism that is the essence of Goodfinding. Now watch this video story about the amazing and talented Billy McLaughlin, a guitarist who had the courage to overcome a tremendous obstacle to keep his music alive.

Whether you're a child prodigy like this 6 year old who has been called the "next Mozart," or just another music lover like the rest of us, be sure and check out Tom Michero's At his new and growing web site, you can learn music theory, buy and sell instruments, and become part of his growing community of music heroes. Tom is a great guy, and the inventor of The Harmonizer, "the most comprehensive music theory reference tool on the planet." And to finish out this segment, whether you've seen it or not, watch Stand By Me, a Playing For Change video. I've watched it many times, and it always thrills and inspires me. and Playing For Change are about connecting with and through music, which brings to mind the amazing film entitled, "August Rush"--watch the inspiring trailer now.

Good People And Good Fun!

It is always inspiring to learn of people standing up, stepping up, and doing the right thing. Watch this video to learn about three women who saved a man's life, and these great folks helping special children feel normal (not the other way around). And I love how Prince William's cousin Beatrice turned the Internet sensation of her surprising hat into a way to raise money for charity--watch the Happy News video.

Now, to be further amazed and entertained, check out this brave woman walking among wild cheetahs, and be sure and watch to the end of the video--where you will see them literally eating out of her hand. Speaking of bravery (and some goofy fun), watch this courageous kitten taking on a very scary thing, and Elliot (very cute) getting his first kiss! I think you'll also enjoy this amazing talking dog, and this video of Jellyfish Lake (underwater).

To bring this segment to a beautiful and inspiring close, look at these magnificent photos, and savor the feeling of appreciation that floods you when you experience this amazing talent and subject matter. Now, sit back, relax and watch this impressive time-lapse video called "City Limits," by Dominic Boudreault.
