Your True Nature Is Awesome

Everything you've ever wanted to be is who you truly are inside. Every person you've ever admired, respected or appreciated gives you a sense of your emerging self. You are in a process of becoming the very best of what you've ever dreamed of being. The reason you find certain people worthy of your love and admiration is because they reflect aspects of yourself that are emerging from seeds of inspiration from within you. Think of those people now, and imagine that all of their wonderful qualities of kindness, courage, grace and strength are flowing into you in this very moment. These qualities then merge with the goodness that is already there, adding to your evolving positive nature. To enhance your happiness, breathe in all of the happiness you see around you on a daily basis, knowing it is a reflection of your heart and soul. To enhance your health, say "Yes, yes, yes!" to every evidence of vibrant well being and energy you see. Embrace this well being with these words spoken silently in your mind: "That is me. That's why I am seeing it, that's why I'm noticing it. That vibrant energy and life lives in me, and it is emerging anew every moment of every day." This is your pathway to the life you choose. Find the good everywhere you look, and say "Yes!" to it, breathe it in, and embrace it as a reflection of your own inner awesome nature.

The Eyes Of Innocence

This may be a stretch, but stretching is really good for you. As a kind of walking meditation, try observing your world with the eyes of innocence. This would mean seeing without judgment, or even without understanding, as an infant would view things. Don't worry, this won't get you in trouble, because your discriminating adult mind will always be close at hand to take over if needed. What value does this hold? It's actually huge. Here's how it is our projections onto the world, coming from our judgments and preconceptions, that rob it of its miraculous beauty and wonder. Imagine a child experiencing snow for the first time, or seeing her first birthday cake. This is a way of stepping out of the blindness caused by cynicism and the illusion that you really know what's going on. Life, in each unfolding moment, is a truly amazing event. As a surprising example of this, learn about this Montreal man who sees for the first time at 68 years of age. And imagine life through the eyes of this 4 year old who gets to live his bucket list early. Innocence is openness, freedom and clarity. It's what Eastern philosophers call "the beginner's mind," and what the scriptures are referring to in speaking of "becoming like little children" and entering the kingdom of heaven.

Art, Inspiration And Fun

Using your innocent eyes, watch this video of the amazing Omo people, whose bodies are their canvases for creating art. And on the subject of art, here's a great story about an artist who finds his true passion at the ripe young age of 58 years. Now keep your child-like appreciation going with this 60-second inspiration video, and the story of Joey, who is a cancer survivor and an inspiration for the Stony Brook college football team. When you're not too busy, sit back and read these 99 Tiny Stories to Make you Think, Smile and Cry...they are worth your valuable time. From that same great source, check out these 8 Things You Forgot to Be Grateful For, and go ahead and be grateful for them now! These authors also suggest 6 Powerful Truths to Start Telling Yourself. Those positive nudges go right along with these scientifically verified 10 Simple Things You Can Do To Make You Happier, which include a great image of the brain before and after exercise. Now meet Melinda, who conquered her loneliness after a move to a new state by giving 365 days of hugs, and also learn about two teens who are a part of a worldwide movement to Make The Homeless Smile. And speaking of smiling, this video of The Best Morning Ever will most certainly bring a smile or two. You will most certainly love the story of Fred and "Oh, Sweet Lorraine" about a 94 year old man who wrote a song for his wife of 75 years, one month after her passing, and then was surprised to find it being professionally recorded Green Shoe Studios. And to conclude your journey of awesome wonder, watch this beautiful video featuring an astrophysicist telling us what he considers to be "the astounding fact about the Universe."
