Trust Makes You Stronger

The word origin of trust takes us back to the Old Norse word traustr which means strong. Other related words are true and confident. How do you grow your trust, so that you can become stronger, more confident and true? Start with yourself. The more you trust your inner wisdom (your cumulative life experience) and your intuition (your heart and mind working together), the better they will work for you. Trust yourself to make good decisions regarding who and what you rely on. Slowly expand your circle of trust until you find a steadily growing realm of confidence, strength and truth within yourself and in your world.

It is very clear that you will benefit greatly by expanding your circle of trust into the metaphysical and spiritual realms. Whatever your chosen faith, if it brings a sense of comfort, hope and optimism to your heart and mind, you will be healthier and happier -- and stronger -- as a result. You will also gain a sense of peace and comfort by trusting nature, including human nature. A major purpose of this Goodfinding newsletter is to foster a sense of trust, faith and optimism about our human nature. The song Nothing More by Alternate Routes communicates this well. Here are a few of the lyrics:

To be humble, to be kind.
It is the giving of the peace in your mind.
We are love, we are one.
We are how we treat each other when the day is done.

See all of the lyrics here. When you give your trust, you are indeed "giving of the peace in your mind." When you trust someone, they will feel and then become more trustworthy...worthy of the trust you've given. Don't wait for the world or for others to earn your trust. Trust because it is who you are, and because it invites powers far greater than you or me to come through. Believe in the goodness in your heart and the heart of this amazing world. This beautiful video shows how we trust, and trust, and trust, because we "live for good."

'Tis The Season For Love And Joy

So many good things happen this time of year, as we celebrate, each in our own way, the season of love, joy, peace and generosity. It is easy to judge others, and miss out on the beauty of who they are...this video (Apple ad) demonstrates this beautifully. Now, sit back and relax while you watch and listen to the group Pentatonix performing Little Drummer Boy...magnificent. Be sure and watch to the end, it builds to a wonderful crescendo. Now watch the U.S. Air Force Band performing Jesu, Joy Of Man's Desiring at the Smithsonian. And in the spirit of Santa Claus, meet Phillip L. Wenz, who donned his first Santa outfit at 4 years old. Today, he dresses as Santa 200 days a year! Who would imagine that an airline would play Santa? That's exactly what WestJet Airlines did. Watch this delightful video, and feel the delightful child-like excitement and joy fill your heart. If you choose to, you can keep this spirit alive year-round. Look for opportunities to surprise and delight yourself and others on an every day, ongoing basis. Listen to music that lifts your spirits and reminds you of the depth and richness of life. You are the child, and the Santa...the singer and the listener. Celebrate and give full expression to the diverse beauty of who you are.

Kindness, Optimism And Fun

Experience the courage of kindness as you watch this video from Russia, showing good folks like you helping good folks like you. Extreme weather often brings out kindness, as you will see in this video of a very windy Norway. Here's a group of fifth graders standing up for their bullied and handicapped friend Danny...heart warming. Along these same lines, watch how two special needs kids find joy on a football field, and this young mildly autistic man honoring Whoopi Goldberg for her role in helping him create a life. And while we're celebrating his courage, check out these dancing seniors and these amazing acrobats doing the (seemingly) impossible. If you've ever doubted yourself or the value of your contribution, listen to author Neil Gaiman encouraging a student in her unique self expression -- truly golden. Now be energized and inspired by filmmaker and futurist Jason Silva, as he explains how we create our lives with optimism. And for some pure fun, watch why dogs don't make good security systems, and proof that cats really love their humans. Enjoy the amazing new bicycle wheel -- the Copenhagen Wheel, that works with your smart phone to power your bike, a fox hunting under snow, and a wonderful flash mob in Som Sabadell. In joy!
